What are the basic Will requirements?

The most important decisions you need to make is who do you want your property to go to (your beneficiaries) and who you want to manage your Estate (your Estate Trustee, sometimes referred to as Executor).

Your beneficiaries may be individuals or charitable institutions. To ensure that your property goes where you want it to go in all circumstances, you should consider alternative beneficiaries if your named beneficiary dies or in the case of a charity no longer exists. For example, if you have left all of your estate to your children, and one of them dies before you, you may want to direct that his or her share of your estate go to his or her children, or to your surviving children.

Although not required, you may also wish to include basic funeral instructions, such as a request that your remains be cremated when you die.
